O. Reg. 303/13 allows the nomination fee to be paid by an electronic method and to update the prescribed forms for the 2014 municipal elections.

O. Reg. 304/13 (Voter Identification) made under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 came into force on November 26, 2013.

O. Reg. 304/13 removes the requirement that identification show an elector?s signature.

O. Reg. 304/13 also revoked O. Reg. 500/09 (Voter Identification).

Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is proposing to
amend O. Reg. 101/97 (General) and O. Reg. 500/09 (Voter Identification) under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996:

-O. Reg. 101/97 (General) to allow the nomination fee to be paid by an electronic method and to update the prescribed forms for the 2014 municipal elections; and,
-O. Reg. 500/09 (Voter Identification) to remove the requirement that identification show an elector's signature.

These proposed changes would be in place for the 2014 municipal elections cycle.
