Summary of Decision:
Ontario Regulation 235/13 amending Ontario Regulation (O.Reg.) 73/94 (General) and O.Reg. 234/13 amending O.Reg. 681/94 (Classification of Proposals for Instruments) under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993 were filed on August 15, 2013.

The amendments to O. Reg. 73/94 (General) add a French version of the regulation; update the names of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and
Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment; prescribe the Ministry of Rural Affairs for the purposes of preparing a Statement of Environmental Values, posting environmentally significant acts and policies on the Environmental Registry for a minimum public comment period of 30 days, and Applications for Review; update references to the current Building Code to refer to the new Building Code (coming into force January 1, 2014); update references to the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000; and remove references to the repealed Sustainable Water and Sewage Systems Act, 2002.

The amendments to O. Reg. 681/94 (Instrument Classification) change responsibility for the Crown Forest Sustainability Act from the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines to the to the Ministry of Natural Resources; ensure consistency in terms used in reference to subsection 39 (3) or (4) of O. Reg. 419/05 made under the Environmental Protection Act; update references to terms under the current Public Lands Act; remove references to repealed sections of the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act; update references to repealed sections of the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act; and update references to the current Building Code to refer to the new Building Code (coming into force January 1, 2014).
