Summary of Proposal:
The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care is proposing to make a regulation under the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act to establish a fee for the review and approval of X-ray machine installation plans under section 3 of the Act. The amount of the fee will be set to recover costs incurred in reviewing and approving the installation plan. The fee is to be paid by the owner of the X-ray machine for whom the approval is requested. Public hospitals and educational institutions will be exempt from the requirement to pay the fee.
