-Ontario Regulation 173/16 (Community Planning Permits) - new, replacing Ontario Regulation 608/06 (Development Permits)

This new regulation replaces Ontario Regulation 608/06 (Development Permits) in order to change the name of the "development permit system" to "community planning permit system", and put in place a five-year "timeout" for applications to amend a system after it is established, unless permitted by the municipality.

The new regulation also includes some housekeeping changes intended to clarify the intent of the regulation and make it more functional, including:

clarifying notice requirements for community planning permit by-laws, and
improving consistency of language used in the regulation.

The regulation also includes transition rules associated with the five-year "timeout" for applications to amend a community planning permit system after it is established, unless permitted by the municipality.

Please note that the original proposal for how the five-year "timeout" would be transitioned can be reviewed in EBR Registry Number 012-6827.
