Summary of Decision:
The following new Planning Act regulations were filed on June 8, 2016 and came into force on July 1, 2016:

-Ontario Regulation 174/16 (Transitional Matters Relating to the Smart Growth for Our Communities Act, 2015)
-Ontario Regulation 173/16 (Community Planning Permits) - new, replacing Ontario Regulation 608/06 (Development Permits)

The new Ontario Regulation 174/16 sets out specific rules for planning matters in process at the time the Planning Act changes came into force on July 1, 2016.

A section of the new Ontario Regulation 173/16 sets out the transitional rules associated with the five-year "timeout" for applications to amend a community planning permit system after it is established, unless permitted by the municipality.
