Ontario Regulation 159/10 amending Ontario Regulation (O.Reg.) 73/94 and O.Reg. 160/10 amending O.Reg. 681/94 under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993 was filed on May 6, 2010.

The amendments to O.Reg. 73/94 prescribed the Lake Simcoe Protection Act, 2008 and the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 for MOE; and prescribed the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001 for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The amendments to O.Reg. 681/94 prescribed certain instruments under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002, for MOE; prescribed instruments under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and updated existing references to the Endangered Species Act, R.S.O.1990 for the Ministry of Natural Resources; updated the responsibility for issuing instruments under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, 1994, from MNR to the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry; and updated references to the Gasoline Handling Code and the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services Act for the Ministry of Consumer Services.

Summary of Proposal:
