Summary of Decision:
On March 11, 2019, an amendment to Ontario Regulation 664/98 came into effect which deemed the Memorandum of Understanding (2019-2022) between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Nipissing First Nation to be an instrument under the Act.
Analysis of Regulatory Impact:
This renewed agreement via a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Nipissing First Nation regarding commercial fishing on Lake Nipissing is considered an administrative step to implement a legally binding contract (the MOU). As such, the cost to business is expected to be nil to minimal.
