Analysis of Regulatory Impact:
Amendments made to the regulation to reflect new designations are made only at the voluntary request of agencies.
The designation process does not affect businesses nor constitute an additional burden on agencies wishing to be designated, on the contrary, designations are granted in order to enhance an agency's profile and operations by allowing them to present themselves to their Francophone clientele as official providers of French-language services.
Further, any effect that a new designation might have is positive for the agency's business, since it results in a formal recognition by government that the effort and resources that have been put in place to provide quality services in French is being rewarded.
The government already funds this agency for the provision of services on its behalf through transfer payments. There are no additional costs for the sponsoring ministry or the agency with respect to the proposed designation.
