Summary of Proposal:
We are proposing to amend O. Reg. 242/08 - General Regulation under the Endangered Species Act, 2007(ESA) that would make certain conditional exemptions to certain species that will be newly listed on or before January 2022 in O. Reg 230/08 - SARO List.
We invite feedback and input from the public, Indigenous communities and stakeholders across the province on the proposed amendments to the General Regulation. We are committed to ensuring flexibility, transparency and certainty for Ontarians while continuing to support the protection and recovery of species at risk under the Endangered Species Act, 2007.
