Summary of Decision:
We have made a decision to amend the Open Seasons regulation under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 to streamline deer season types and duration across the province to support the continued delivery of a modern and efficient provincial deer harvest management system.

No significant impacts to deer harvest levels, hunter safety or deer population stability are anticipated because of these changes.

The anticipated economic consequences of the proposal are neutral to positive as the proposed changes are intended to provide streamlined regulations and additional hunting opportunities as appropriate. There are no annual administrative costs to business anticipated from these proposed changes.

There are no anticipated significant environmental implications that would impact deer harvest levels, hunter safety, or deer population stability as a result of these proposed changes. The proposed changes would apply to both resident seasons and non-resident seasons (where applicable).
