Approve in-year amendments to the regulations needed each year to update preliminary information contained in the regulation to reflect updated information (e.g., enrolment and staffing) provided to the ministry by school boards as well as other technical adjustments, if any.

These amendments would ensure that the GSN funding regulations fully reflect the government's policy goals for elementary and secondary education; funding is flowed to school boards under proper legal authority; and there is accountability for this major transfer program.

The Grants for Student Needs (GSN) is a major annual cyclical activity and provides most of the funding for 72 district school boards and 10 school authorities in Ontario.
