Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is currently assisting municipalities and DSSABs with the delivery of Ontario Works by automating and managing applications for client intake.
To move forward with its plan to streamline and improve service delivery for Ontario Works, the ministry is proposing regulatory amendments to take on the authority as delivery agent in three geographic areas:
• District Municipality of Muskoka;
• County of Peterborough and City of Peterborough; and
• Regional Municipality of York.
The proposed amendments would name the ministry as the Delivery Agent for these geographic areas for Ontario Works and the current delivery agents would be designated as delivery partners. The amendments would also define the broad roles and responsibilities of the three delivery partners and the ministry.
The ministry has worked with municipal partners through its established provincial-municipal officials table to move forward with the ministry plan to streamline and improve service delivery for Ontario Works.
The ministry plans to expand its role as the delivery agent in all 47 geographic areas in the future and new geographic areas will be added to this regulation as new agreements are made with stakeholders.

Analysis of Regulatory Impact:
There is no anticipated regulatory cost impact associated with the proposed regulation. The intent of the proposed regulation is to reduce administrative costs for municipalities as the province takes on more responsibility for Ontario Works delivery.
