Proposed Regulatory changes to enable an Ontario Works cost sharing relationship between a Delivery Agent and Delivery Partner - Amendments to O.Reg. 135/98 - Administration and Cost Sharing

Regulation Number(s):
135/98
Instrument Type:
Regulation - LGIC
Bill or Act:
N/A
Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services' Administration and Cost Sharing Regulation (O.Reg 135/98) sets out the rules and guidelines describing how administrative and financial matters are handled for the delivery of Ontario Works. Delivery partners are not currently reflected in the cost-sharing regulation.

The proposed amendments are technical and will clarify that the existing funding relationship between the ministry and delivery agents will also apply to the new relationships being established in the three geographic areas.

This will support the ministry's plan to streamline and improve service delivery for Ontario Works.
Analysis of Regulatory Impact:
There are no immediate regulatory impacts to Ontario Works providers, as these changes reflect current cost sharing practices. No new costs are anticipated as a result of these changes.

The ministry will be removing legacy provisions in the regulation that no longer apply to the funding relationship, reducing the regulatory burden for municipalities that deliver Ontario Works.
