Summary of Proposal:
The Ontario Government is proposing an amendment to Regulation 659/00 under the Wine Content and Labelling Act, 2000, that includes all of a winery’s non-VQA wines in the calculation of the average 40% minimum Ontario grape content requirement for wines packaged on or after September 1, 2010 and before March 31, 2014.
Also, the Government proposes to make a housekeeping amendment to the requirement that wineries provide records, by specifying that these records be provided to the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming, an official of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
