Summary of Decision:
Ontario Regulation 227/12 amending Ontario Regulation (O.Reg.) 73/94 (General) and O.Reg. 226/12 amending O.Reg. 681/94 (Classification of Proposals for Instruments) under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993 were filed on August 1, 2012.
The amendments to O.Reg. 73/94 (General) provide that provisions in Part II of the EBR related to public consultation apply to the Ministry of Education, and also prescribe parts of the Water Opportunities Act, 2010, prescribe the Far North Act, 2010, remove references to the (now repealed) Waste Management Act, 1992, update references to the Building Code regulation made under the Building Code Act, 1992, and update ministry names to the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
The amendments for O.Reg. 681/94 (Classification of Proposals for Instruments) prescribe, update and remove a number of instruments under the Mining Act and update references to regulation numbers under the Ontario Building Code.
