Summary of Proposal:
Ontario's provincial parks are established by regulation under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006. Parks protect significant natural, cultural and recreational environments, while providing opportunities for visitors to participate in recreational activities.

Stoco Fen Provincial Park is a 101 hectare (ha) nature reserve class park established in 1985 through regulation of public and private lands. The park protects most of the open fen component of the provincially significant Stoco Fen wetland and Area of Natural and Scientific Interest.

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is proposing to regulate four parcels of acquired land (99 ha) and a small area of unopened road allowance (1 ha) that will increase the park size by 100 ha. These parcels were acquired from private owners from 1998 to 2011 in partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, to further protect the Stoco Fen wetland.

Amending the boundary of Stoco Fen Provincial Park requires amending Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 316/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006.
