Summary of Proposal:
As part of the Mining Act Modernization initiative, MNDM will continue a flexible and progressive approach to achieving compliance, through education, warnings, Orders and prosecutions pursuant to the Provincial Offences Act. With the addition of a proposed new Exploration Plans and Permits scheme under the Mining Act, MNDM is proposing to enhance its suite of compliance tools by adding the ability to prosecute lesser offences by way of certificate of offence (tickets) under Part I of the POA.
