Summary of Proposal:
The Ontario College of Trades will be implemented in 2013. In order for the College to be ready for business, the Government of Ontario needs to make regulations under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA). When the existing legislation - the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act (TQAA) and the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 (ACA) and their regulations - are repealed, Ontario's apprenticeship and trade certification system will be governed completely under the OCTAA.
As a result of these changes completed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities; four regulations under the HTA will need to be amended to reference the new act and some minor wording changes to maintain consistence terminology between ministries:

The following sections of HTA regulations have been approved:
1. Ontario Regulation 376/02 - Classification of Vehicles as Irreparable, Salvage and Rebuilt -- Subsections 2(1) and 2(2)
2. Ontario Regulation 199/07 - Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections -- Subsections 4(1) and 11(6)
3. Ontario Regulation 424/97 - Commercial Motor Vehicle Operators' Information -- Section 10
4. Ontario Regulation 601 - Motor Vehicle Inspection Stations -- Subsections 8(1), 8(4), 8(5), 8 (5.1) and 10(1)
