Approved amendments to O. Reg. 79/10 are deemed to have come into force on July 1, 2010.

Small long-term care homes with less than 40 beds, that are adjoined to a hospital, are exempt from s. 8(3) & (4) of the Act related to 24-hour registered nurse (RN) nursing care; and Administrator and Director of Nursing and Personal Care RN hours, so long as a RN is on duty and present anywhere on the site, including the hospital. This exemption also applies to a LTC home that also has EldCap beds, but a combined total of less than 40 LTC beds.
