College Introduction

Under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and the Denturism Act, 1991, the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) is responsible for governing the self-regulating profession of Denturism in Ontario.

Under these Acts, the CDO may make regulations on a variety of subject matter, including registration, subject to the prior review by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care and the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

Summary of Proposal

The CDO is proposing amendments to its registration regulation made under the Denturism Act, 1991, which includes the following:

a) Updates to the classes of registration;
b) Updates to requirements for each class of registration;
c) Specifying the requirements common to all classes of registration;
d) Amending terms, limits and conditions for all classes of registration;
e) Providing inactive and temporary provisions;
f) Suspension, revocation and reinstatement provisions; and
g) Labour mobility.

The CDO is currently circulating the proposed registration regulation amendments to its members and other stakeholders for feedback.
