The Ontario College of Trades will be implemented in 2013. In order for the College to be ready for business, the Government of Ontario needs to make regulations under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA). When the existing legislation - the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act (TQAA) and the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 (ACA) and their regulations - are repealed, Ontario's apprenticeship and trade certification system will be governed completely under the OCTAA.
As a result of these changes completed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities; one regulation under the Pesticides Act needed to be amended to reference the new Act. At the same time a minor change was made to correct the French translation of the phrase turf grass.
