Summary of Decision:
The regulation amends Ontario Regulation 175/11- Prescribed Trades and Related Matters under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act 2009. The regulation:
- amends two trade names (Aboriginal Child Care Practitioner to Aboriginal Child Development Practitioner) and (Child Care Practitioner to Child Development Practitioner)
-removes the trade of Cement Mason

The amendments come into effect under the Act on April 8, 2013.

Summary of Proposal:
Ontario Regulation 175/11 under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act 2009 prescribes the following:

-name trades for the purposes of the Act;
-name trades that belong to each of the construction, motive power, industrial and service sectors;
-name trades with wage rates and hours;
-name trades subject to journeyperson to apprentice ratio;
-name compulsory/voluntary trades.

Ontario Regulation 175/11 was approved in May 2011. Since this time, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has been working with the Ontario College of Trades to amend two trade names (Aboriginal Child Development Practitioner and Child Development Practitioner) and remove the trade of Cement Mason. These changes are supported by stakeholders in the industry and College's governing boards.
