Summary of Decision:
O. Reg. 583/06 (Licensing Powers) made under the Municipal Act, 2001, was amended by O. Reg. 140/13, and O. Reg. 590/06 (Licensing Powers) made under the City of Toronto Act, 2006, was amended by O. Reg. 141/13.
O. Reg. 140/13 and O. Reg. 141/13 amend O. Reg. 583/06 and O. Reg. 590/06 by replacing references to the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act and the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 with references to the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.
These amendments were necessary since on April 8, 2013, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities repealed the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act and the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 and proclaimed the outstanding provisions of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.
O. Reg. 140/13 (Licensing Powers) made under the Municipal Act, 2001 and O. Reg. 141/13 (Licensing Powers) made under the City of Toronto Act, 2006 came into force on April 19, 2013.
O. Reg. 140/13 and O. Reg. 141/13 amend O. Reg. 583/06 and O. Reg. 590/06 by replacing references to the Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act and the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, 1998 with references to the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.
