Amendments to O. Reg. 107/96 (Controlled Acts) made under the RHPA were made to support amendments to Part VII (Prescribed Procedures) of O. Reg. 596/94 (General) made under the Respiratory Therapy Act, 1991. The amendment exempts respiratory therapists from the prohibition on performing the controlled act of ?putting an instrument, hand or finger into an artificial opening into the body? for purposes of performing tracheostomy tube changes, subject to specified conditions.
