Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Transportation is seeking to increase fees for driver and vehicle products and services under Regulations 628, 273/07, 340/94.

The following driver and vehicle products and services will be increased: motor vehicle permits and number plates; trailer permits, plates and validation; non-graphic personalized licence plates; driver?s licence reinstatements and monetary penalties.

The Ministry is also seeking to introduce two new fees for the Driver Certification Program and Demerit Point Interviews.

Revenue from the new and increased fees will help support the maintenance of Ontario's transportation infrastructure and recover the cost of delivering and administering programs.

Target implementation dates are as follows:

January 1, 2015
- Non-graphic personalized licence plates $310
- Driver Certification Program $20

July 1, 2015
- Driver's Licence Reinstatement $180
- Monetary Penalty $180
- Demerit Point Interviews $50

November 1, 2016
- Vehicle number plate $25

January 1, 2017
- Issue permit for motor vehicle and trailer $32
- Vehicle permit, number plate and validation for a trailer $72
