Two new regulations under the Electricity Act, 1998 were created:
a. Other Objects, IESO (O. Reg. 288/14 - replacing O. Reg 143/14 and O. Reg 452/06)

OPA/IESO Merger Implementation

Effective January 1, 2015, the Electricity Act, 1998 and the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 were amended to amalgamate the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) and Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) into one organization continued as the IESO. As a result of the amalgamation, certain regulations were amended, revoked or put in place to align with the legislation.
