Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services is proposing the following changes to Ontario Regulation 26/10 - Training and Testing under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA)
• Change the term "Curriculum" to "Syllabus" in Ontario Regulation 26/10 - Training and Testing as well as in the training materials for security guards and private investigators.
• Individuals who hold valid First Aid/CPR certification upon taking the Training for Security Guards and upon taking the test will no longer be required to take First Aid/CPR training and certification as a part of their training.
• Changes to "online training" in the Training Syllabus for Security Guards and Private Investigators.
• Licensed agencies under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA) that provide training for security guards and/or private investigators will be required to provide training completion certificates to all students who have successfully completed training for security guards and/or private investigators.
