Summary of Decision:
On March 31, 2010 a new regulation made under the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 (LHSIA) was filed with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation O. Reg. 136/10.

This regulation deals with the reconciliation and recovery of funding provided to long-term care home operators and contains minor technical amendments.
This regulation will come into force on the day section 1 of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 comes into force.

Summary of Proposal:
A regulation has been approved to amend the Health Professionals Advisory Committee Regulation (Ontario Regulation 264/07) under LHSIA to add provisions enabling LHINs to reconcile and recover funding that LHINs provide to long-term care (LTC) home operators.

Minor technical amendments will also be made to Ontario Regulation 264/07 that are necessary to rename the regulation the General Regulation and to ensure consistent cross references to LTC homes once the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 (LTCHA) comes into force on July 1, 2010. The General Regulation under LHSIA will come into force on July 1, 2010, the day section 1 of the LTCHA comes into force.
