Regulation Number(s):
Instrument Type:
Regulation - Minister
Bill or Act:
Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009
Summary of Proposal:
In December 2016, the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (OCTAA) was amended, creating the College of Trades Appointments Council and Classification Roster (COTACCR), a non-board-governed agency that will be responsible for conducting trade classification reviews. As part of the implementation of these amendments, the Ministry of Labour is consulting on elements of a Minister's regulations that would outline:

(a) the criteria and process to be used by classification panels in making determinations;
(b) transitional issues related to a determination that a classification panel shall determine; and
(c) the continuity of classification panels where, before a matter that is before a classification panel is concluded, a member of the panel resigns or is unable or unwilling to continue to serve on the panel, or the appointment of a member expires or is terminated.
