Summary of Proposal:
The Ontario Immigration Act (the Act) received Royal Assent on May 28, 2015. Regulations are necessary to bring many of the Act's provisions into effect. In January 2016, the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) completed public consultations on draft regulations related to the administration of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and the selection program eligibility criteria for six different categories under the OINP. However, due to the ongoing modernization of the OINP, those regulations did not proceed and the Act was not proclaimed.

Prior to proclaiming the Act, MCI is now seeking input on the modernized, streamlined job offer based categories, the business categories, and the two new categories of the OINP selection program launched in 2017.
