O. Reg. 115/18 amends R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 737 under the NSBA.

This amendment adds the Power of Emergency Telecommunications to the powers of the Local Services Board of Shebandowan. The Power of Emergency Telecommunications allows the Local Services Board to provide inhabitants in this area 911 Communication and Response Services via the mechanisms set out at paragraph 9 of the Schedule to the NSBA.

The Local Services Board underwent all of the necessary steps required by the NSBA to acquire the Power of Emergency Telecommunications. These steps included consultations with inhabitants as well as a vote put forward to the inhabitants. The majority of inhabitants voted in favour of the request.

MNDM completed the due diligence and the request was approved by the Minister of Northern Development and Mines. The Regulation was filed on March 27, 2018.
