Summary of Decision:
O. Reg. 115/18 amends R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 737 under the NSBA.
This amendment alters the geographic boundaries of the Local Services Board of Round Lake and Area to provide Fire Protection and Emergency Telecommunications services to properties currently not within the LSB boundaries. This approval will bring the LSB into compliance with the NSBA in providing Fire Protection and Emergency Telecommunications services.
The Local Services Board underwent all of the necessary steps required by the NSBA to alter the LSB boundaries. These steps included consultations with inhabitants as well as a vote put forward to the inhabitants within the current LSB area as well as a vote of inhabitants in the proposal area. Both votes were unanimous in favour of the proposal.
MNDM completed the due diligence and the request was approved by the Minister of Northern Development and Mines. The Regulation was filed on March 27, 2018.
