Summary of Decision:
The proposed regulation amending section 9 and Schedule 1 of Regulation 552 under the Health Insurance Act has been made.

The amendments make clear that an insured person receiving in-patient services at a private hospital licensed under the Private Hospitals Act is entitled to receive accommodation and meals at the standard or public ward level at no charge. The list of private hospitals set out under Schedule 1 has also been updated to reflect current corporate and operating names.

Summary of Proposal:
