Members of the Ontario College of Trades' trade boards and roster of adjudicators who have served six consecutive years end in 2018 are temporarily exempt from the legislative requirement to take a one year absence from that trade board or the roster of adjudicators before they are eligible for reappointment.
The exemption applies to:
• 132 trade board members appointed between February 15, 2012 and October 1, 2012 who will reach six years of consecutive service on their respective trade board between February 14, 2018 and September 30, 2018; and
• All 17 roster of adjudicators members appointed between February 15, 2012 to May 14, 2012 who will reach six years of consecutive service on the roster of adjudicators between February 14, 2018 and May 13, 2018.
These members are eligible to be reappointed to serve a further three-year term before they are required to take a one year absence from being reappointed.
Members eligible for these exemptions may express an interest in being reappointed to the trade board or roster of adjudicators via the Appointments Council's Expression of Interest process.
The Appointments Council will continue to make all appointments, including reappointments, based on the pool of all qualified applicants to the College's trade boards and the roster of adjudicators.
The exemption for trade board members expires on September 30, 2023 and for the roster of adjudicators, on May 13, 2023.
