Summary of Decision:
In response to challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak, and at the request of the dairy industry, the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission (Commission) has amended R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 761: Milk and Milk Products under the Milk Act.

The amendments:
oExtend dairy plant licences by four months past the deadline to provide inspectors with additional time to conduct plant inspections, which are required for licencing.

oExtend milk, cream and bulk tank milk grader certificates by twelve months past the deadline to provide additional time to safely conduct required training courses.

Additional amendments will also:

oRemove outdated references to Ontario Regulation 60/09: Standards of Care and Administrative Standards under the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and replace them with references to Ontario Regulation 444/19: Standards of Care and Administrative Requirements under the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, 2019; and;

oCorrect an amendment error made in 2018.

The regulation was filed with the Registrar of Regulations and came into force upon filing.
