Proposal Number:

Posting Date:
Summary of Proposal:
The current manner of describing the land area is through an outdated 84-page text-based metes and bounds description in regulation. This amendment would change the format of the regulation from a text description to a mapping product, but would not change any policies that protect the Greenbelt.

Ontario Regulation 826 under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act (NEPDA) regulates the area of development control (ADC). In this area, the Niagara Escarpment Commission issues development permits for activities that meet the definition of development in the Act. The current manner of describing the land area is through an outdated 84-page text-based metes and bounds description in regulation.

The regulation will continue to apply to lands within the area of development control, and the environmental policies of the Niagara Escarpment Plan will continue to apply.
