The regulatory timelines associated with O. Reg. 589/17 (General) were amended. The date by which municipalities are to include the asset management plan requirements under the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, 2015 as part of their work in establishing a development charge for transit has changed. This is to accommodate changes made to delay the implementation of the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, 2015 asset management planning requirements due to operational issues brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

These changes are aligned with related amendments to O. Reg. 588/17 (Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure).

The date by which municipalities are to include the asset management plan requirements under the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, 2015 as part of their work in establishing a development charge for municipal transit has been extended from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025. The existing requirements in O. Reg. 82/98 under the Development Charges Act, 1997 will continue to apply until that time.
