Summary of Proposal:
The Forms regulation made under the Expropriations Act prescribes various forms for use in expropriations proceedings and provides that the forms are available on the Government of Ontario's Central Forms Repository. The forms are referenced by name, number (1-12), and date.
The Accelerating Access to Justice Act, 2021 (formerly Bill 245) recently made amendments to the Expropriations Act. These amendments required minor wording changes in four forms. The changes have been made by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS) at the direction of the Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG). The amended forms are available on the Central Forms Repository at: https://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca
The forms regulation has been amended to do the following:
• Reflect new dates on forms 3, 4, 7 and 8: The former forms were dated "March 2015". The new dates on the forms are July 2021 shown as "2021/07";
• Amend the title of Form 3 to reference section 7 of the Expropriations Act;
• Change the date format for the other existing forms (forms 1-2, 5-6, 9-12). The dates on the forms will be shown as 2015/03, i.e., "yyyy/mm" format. The regulation currently refers to the forms as being dated "March 2015". The regulation would be amended to reflect MGCS's preferred "yyyy/mm" format for dates.
