Summary of Proposal:
Ontario Regulation 468/18 under the Cannabis Licence Act (2018) has been amended to exempt cannabis retail applicants from the requirement to pay the following licensing fees charged by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO):
o the Retail Store Authorization (RSA) fee if the cannabis retail store is located on reserve;
o the Retail Operator Licence (ROL) fee if the applicant demonstrates to the Registrar of the AGCO that they intend to operate a cannabis retail store on reserve; and,
o the Retail Manager Licence (RML) fee if the applicant demonstrates to the Registrar of the AGCO that they intend to manage a cannabis retail store on reserve.
o The RSA, ROL and RML renewal fees if the applicant demonstrates to the Registrar of the AGCO that the application for renewal is for a cannabis retail store located on a reserve.
