The LTCHA was proclaimed and was effective July 1, 2010. The Regulations govern the requirements relating to long-term care home resident care, services, admissions, operations, funding, licensing, compliance and administrative matters in all long-term care homes in Ontario. Summary of Proposal:
The Regulations under the LTCHA received approval and became effective July 1, 2010. At the time of proclamation the former legislation governing long term care homes (the Nursing Homes Act, Charitable Institutions Act and Homes for the Aged and Rest Homes Act) is repealed and accompanying regulations revoked.
