The regulation states all requirements needed for a business entity that sells private security services to become registered under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 and advises that every registration expires one year after the date of registration.

The June 11, 2010 amendment extended the term of registration by 30 days to business entities whose registration had an expiry date between June 13, 2010 and July 1, 2010. The extension only applied if they had submitted their renewal application prior to their licence expiring and if the Private Security and Investigative Services Branch was unable to process the licence prior to its expiring.
