Summary of Proposal:
This transition regulation provides that the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario, 2011 does not apply to decisions on matters commenced before the effective date of the Growth Plan - March 3, 2011.
This transition provision is included in section 6 of O. Reg. 311/06, as amended.
The Growth Plan for Northern Ontario, 2011 has been issued under the authority of the Places to Grow Act, 2005. Under the Places to Grow Act, 2005, decisions on all planning matters, including matters that were already in process on the effective date of a growth plan, must conform with the growth plan. Without this regulation, the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario, 2011 would apply to all decisions made after the Plan's effective date.
