Summary of Proposal:
This proposal is to amend Ontario Regulation 289/01 (Enforcement) under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) in order to designate Quebec as a "reciprocating state" for the purposes of employment standards.

Adding Quebec as a "reciprocating state" would allow for employment standards orders issued against an employer in Quebec who now resides or operates in Ontario to be enforced by Ontario's Director of Employment Standards (ES). Similarly, as a reciprocating state, Quebec would be able to enforce Ontario's employment standards orders.
