Summary of Proposal:
The government has administratively amended the Transit Regulation in two general areas:
1) To clarify for proponents that by undertaking the streamlined process available in the regulation, projects would be exempt from relevant Class EA requirements (i.e. projects would not inadvertently be subject to both processes). This reflects one of the key original policy intents of the regulation, which was to ensure that proponents subject to a Class EA retained the flexibility to choose between utilizing an existing Class EA process or the new six month transit assessment process laid out in the regulation.
2) To change the references to Greater Toronto Transportation Authority Undertakings to Metrolinx as it was renamed after the regulation was made.
