In December 2010, O. Reg. 500/10 ("Prescribed Time Period under Section 22.23 of the Code") was enacted to extend the period of time for health regulatory colleges to bring their regulations into conformity with the labour mobility provisions of the Health Professions Procedural Code (Code) to December 16, 2011.

The amendments to O. Reg. 500/10 further extend the period in which health regulatory colleges may bring their regulations into conformity with the Code to May 31, 2012.

Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is proposing a regulation made under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) which will extend the period of time for health regulatory colleges to amend or revoke regulations and by-laws to ensure that they conform with the labour mobility provisions of the Health Professions Procedural Code, which is Schedule 2 of the RHPA, by approximately 5 and a half months.

It is proposed that the regulation be revoked on June 1st 2012.
