Summary of Decision:
The ministry of transportation has amended Regulation 341/94 and 340/94 which recognizes the Department of National Defence (DND) 404 permit and the extensive training and testing required to obtain these permits. These amendments waive additional testing for existing and past military personnel to obtain an equivalent Ontario licence. Ontario's existing identification requirements, vision testing, medical requirements, and applicable fees will still apply.
DND 404s are issued under the National Defence Act and are granted to personnel, employees and contractors in order to operate DND civilian and military types of vehicles.
