Summary of Proposal:
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Office of the Fire Marshal is inviting public comment on a package of proposed changes for the next edition of the Fire Code. These proposed changes have been compiled in consideration of a variety of submissions and reflect Ontario's ongoing participation in a nationally coordinated code development strategy.
Note that a separate initiative is underway to review fire safety provisions for vulnerable residents. As this review is proceeding on a different schedule, technical changes contained in the current consultation package do not include proposals dealing with the subject of vulnerable occupancies.
