The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing amendments to Ontario Regulation 555/06 (Hours of Service) under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), which requires drivers of commercial motor vehicles to use Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) as the method for maintaining a Record of Duty Status in Ontario.

College Master's Degrees in Applied Areas of Study

The Ministry of Colleges and Universities is proposing a Lieutenant Governor in Council (LGIC) regulation amending O. Reg. 279/02 (under the Post-secondary Education Choice and Excellence Act, 2000) to allow the Minister authority to grant consent to publicly-assisted colleges meeting certain conditions to provide degree programs otherwise precluded by the Act.

Proposed New Regulation under the Connecting Care Act, 2019

The Ontario government is proposing to make a new regulation under the Connecting Care Act, 2019 (CCA) that would outline requirements that must be met before the Minister of Health (Minister) may issue an Ontario Health Team (OHT) designation, as well as to address exemptions from the integration-related provisions of the CCA with respect to OHT formation activities.

The Education Act Regulation: Trustee Code of Conduct Sanctions - Maximum Reduction of Honoraria

In June 2023, the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act, 2023 was passed (the Act). To support effective governance, provisions of the Act, once proclaimed, will expand sanctions for breaches of trustee codes of conduct. One of those possible sanctions is a reduction of the trustee's honorarium up to a maximum amount set out in regulation. The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) has proposed to set out, in a Minister's regulation, the maximum amount of the reduction in a trustee's honorarium as a sanction for breaching a school board's trustee code of conduct.

The Education Act New Regulation: Integrity Commissioner Qualifications & Code of Conduct Complaint Process

In June 2023, the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act, 2023 was passed (the Act). The provisions in the Act, once proclaimed, are intended to ensure effective governance and leadership across all school boards to support the successful delivery of provincial education priorities. To support this intent, the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) has proposed a new regulation to establish the minimum qualifications for Integrity Commissioners hired by school boards to investigate code of conduct complaints and to establish the processes and procedural requirements to address code of conduct complaints.
