Proposed Amendment to Ontario Regulation 53/05 (Payments under Section 78.1 of the Act), to be made under the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998

The Ministry of Energy is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 53/05 in order to subject Ontario Power Generation's proposed Darlington Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project to rate-regulation and regulatory oversight by the Ontario Energy Board.

Summary of Regulatory Impact of New Home and Community Care Regulations Under the Connecting Care Act, 2019.

In compliance with requirements set out in the Modernizing Ontario for People and Businesses Act, 2020 (MOPBA), which came into force January 1, 2021, the Ministry has performed a preliminary analysis of the regulatory burden of new home and community care regulations under the Connecting Care Act, 2019. The purpose of this posting is to invite feedback on the expected regulatory burden costs and benefits or cost savings to stakeholders of the proposed home & community care regulatory framework.

Updated Tow Zone Pilot Project, Towing Services on designated Provincial Highways.

Under the Tow Zone Pilot initiative the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) plans to establish multiple restricted towing zones on provincial highways where only authorized towing services providers can provide towing and recovery services. The proposed regulation amendment would allow multiple towing services providers, instead of previous single towing services provider, to provide towing and recovery services within each restricted towing zone.

Enhancing Access to Customary Care - Proposals under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017

Customary care reflects First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples' unique practices as they relate to the care of children. However, the ministry has heard from Indigenous partners that the application of legislated licensed residential care requirements to customary care arrangements in circumstances where they also meet the definition of residential care under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA), has limited how customary care can be practiced, and created barriers to access.

Improving access to prevention services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, young persons and families - Proposals under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017

Changes to the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 are proposed to enhance prevention-focused wraparound supports for First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families as well as the role of prevention-focused Indigenous service providers. The proposed statutory and regulatory amendments focus on improving access to prevention and early intervention services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, young persons and their families, including through wraparound supports.

Proposed Regulatory Enhancements to Support Implementation of Ontario's Quality Standards Framework - Lieutenant Governor in Council Regulation

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) is proposing to amend Ontario Regulation 155/18 under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA) to support implementation of Ontario's Quality Standards Framework (QSF) and improve the everyday experiences of children and young persons both in licensed residential settings and non-residential settings, including mental health, special needs and Indigenous service providers.

Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 (MBLAA) - Licensing Exemption for Mortgage Transactions for Commercial Purposes

The Ministry of Finance is proposing an exemption from licensing requirements under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006 (MBLAA) that could be made available to sophisticated borrowers and lenders with respect to mortgage transactions for commercial purposes.
