Proposed Amendments to Ontario Regulation 421/17 (Approvals under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program and Other Matters), a Lieutenant Governor in Council Regulation made under the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015
The Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) is proposing amendments to the following regulation made under the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015 (the "Act"): Ontario Regulation 421/17 (Approvals under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program and Other Matters). Consequential amendments to revoke supporting provisions in Ontario Regulation 422/17 (General), a Minister's Regulation will also be made.

Proposed Amendments to Ontario Regulation 422/17 (General), a Minister's Regulation made under the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015

Making Polluters Accountable: Industrial Emission Performance Standards  (source: Environmental Registry)
We are consulting on Ontario's proposed Emissions Performance Standard (EPS) to ensure polluters pay their fair share for their greenhouse gas emissions, while also ensuring industry continues to make advances to help Ontario achieve its share of Canada's 2030 target. These standards will apply to industry while maintaining competitiveness of Ontario businesses and minimizing carbon leakage-the risk of production leaving the province for other jurisdictions with less stringent climate policies.

Highway Traffic Act - High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is proposing to amend the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane regulation to permit single occupant motorcycles to operate in HOV lanes.

Industrial Establishments Regulation Amendment Proposal
The Ministry of Labour (the ministry) is proposing various amendments to Regulation 851 (Industrial Establishments) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

Intent to Remove 24 Trades that are Prescribed for the Purposes of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.
The Ministry is notifying the public of its intent to remove 24 trades prescribed under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009.

Mines and Mining Plants Regulatory Amendment Proposal
The Ministry of Labour is proposing various amendments to the Regulation 854 (Mines and Mining Plants) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. These amendments, if approved, would modernize workplace health and safety requirements for Ontario mines and mining plants.

Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services: Public consultation on proposed regulations for mandatory training and certification and conducting community risk assessments.
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services is seeking public input on proposed regulations under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 related to new requirements for the mandatory training and certification of firefighters and the mandatory completion of community risk assessments.

Proposal to amend Ontario's Energy and Water Efficiency Regulation under the Electricity Act, 1998  (source: Environmental Registry)
The proposed regulatory changes, if passed, would help reduce red tape while providing consumers with access to a broader range of efficient products in Ontario. They would further support alignment of Ontario's requirements with those of the Canadian federal government (NRCan) or the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and would reduce barriers for ultra-high definition 8K televisions in the Ontario market.

Proposed amendment to Ontario Regulation 611 (Safety Inspections) under the Highway Traffic Act
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) is proposing to exempt pickup trucks and trailers used exclusively for personal use from the requirement to have an annual inspection.

Proposed Amendments to Oil and Gas - Offshore Regulation
The Ministry of Labour is proposing two amendments to Regulation 855 (Oil and Gas - Offshore) made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. These amendments, if approved, would modernize provisions for life jackets and electrical equipment.

Proposed regulatory amendments to Ontario Regulation 267/03 under the Nutrient Management Act  (source: Environmental Registry)
We are proposing changes to the General Regulation under the Nutrient Management Act to reduce administrative burden and provide more business opportunities for agricultural producers while protecting the environment and public interest. We are proposing to remove the automatic cessation of a nutrient management strategy after five years. We are also proposing to include low risk manures from non-farm grazing animals as Category 1 Non-Agricultural Source Material.
